Why has our world become so obscure??

Some days ago I saw a post on Facebook about another gang rape case. I searched on Google and there it was flashing, "An eight year old Muslim girl, named Asifa, was drugged, raped, murdered and then her body was dumped in a nearby forest". Somewhere I also saw that it was to hound the Muslim nomads out.

Again, we have failed to live up to call ourselves civilised human beings.

Again, there will be protests, candle marches, investigations but the one thing that will still be left will be justice.

I mean like seriously? How much have we fallen. An eight year old girl is raped and murdered and the politicians are busy in raising the issues of Hindu - Muslim conflicts. What disturbed me more was the response of media on this. They are busy in showing debates between politicians and other delegates on their news channels.

Being born as a girl nowadays has become a burden. Not only this case but every now and then there are cases of gang rape and molestation. And all that we do is sit in front of our televisions and criticise the actions of our government.

If hearing about this case cannot fire up your anger and frustration, sorry to say but you are no longer human.

She was just eight years old! We can't even imagine how much she had to go through. The police have promised to find out the culprits and have them punished. But that's all there is to it. Fake promises and assurances.

What has happened to our society? Where has humanity faded away from the hearts of people? Is just ruthlessness left inside us? Every time something like this happens, we go all out on protests demanding justice. But after few days, everything is forgotten. The criminals easily get away with it and the victims are left helpless.

RIP Asifa. We are sorry we couldn't save you. We are sorry for the pain you felt. We are sorry that you had to go through so much. But we are and can only be sorry.

This post is not enough to express my frustration.

So, I'll be taking your leave.✋
